The workshop was held in Samsun on 1-2 December 2016. During the workshop the preliminary Reference Lists of Habitat Types of Community Interest prepared by the project for both biogeographical regions were presented and discussed with the scientific community. Along two days, two specialized working groups (habitat types of the Anatolian biogeographical region and habitat types of the Black Sea biogeographical region) discussed and updated the Reference Lists. Professor Borja Jimenez, expert in the project, oriented the discussions. A workshop with the same characteristics but focused on the habitat types of the Mediterranean biogeographical region will be held at the beginning of 2017. The works on the preparation of the Reference Lists of Habitat types of Community Interest for the three biogeographical regions and the Interpretation Manual for the habitat types in Turkey, will continue until April 2017.
