On 11 October at Kizilcahamam (Ankara) the first module of the training programe on Natura 2000 will take place. The Training Programme is aimed to build capacity among the Turkish administration and other stakeholders for the selection, designation and implementation of Natura 2000. The first module will be focused on the EU nature conservation acquis and the process of selection and designation of Natura 2000 sites. The 56 participants (staff from the ministries of Forestry and Water Affairs, Ministry of Environment and Urbanization, Ministry of Agriculture and representatives of NGOs) will learn the essentials of the Habitats and Birds Directive and will learn from the experience of four EU Member States.
